about

A sort of remake of the Specials song "Gangsters" but this time about the neoliberals in the American government who are using Russia as a spooky enemy against whom all Americans should be united. The dispute with Russia is about money, and antagonizing Russia only benefits the rich. When people talk about things being a Distraction From The Russia Scandal they're ignoring that the scandal itself is a distraction, designed to keep all classes of American society docile and nationalistic in a time of cultural upheaval.

lyrics

Why must you bring up the Russians?
Are you pushing a new rivalry?
You’re only supporting the banksters
Those who steal from our economy

Can't fight corruption with con tricks
They use the law to commit crime
And I dread, dread to think what the future will bring
If we’re still living in bankster time

Can't look away from conspiracy
They’re a threat to the red, white and blue
You must let the elite buy up Washington DC
Or the Russians will take it from you

Don't offer us legal protection
They use the law to commit crime
And I dread to think what the future will bring
If we’re still living in bankster time

I stole the karaoke version of "Gangsters" and recorded the lyrics, about half of which I rewrote.

about

Matt Wixson Ferndale, Michigan

I was a solo ska artist and turned that thing into a three-piece punk band. Then I went solo on the side again, with the same name. I used to try to make people laugh. Now I want to bum them out.
