An instance of homophobia in the ska scene (from a ska band, no less) from several years ago came up again recently, and with it came remarks from ska fans defending the offenders. The band, to their credit, have been making a half-assed attempt to apologize in a way that benefits them more than the dude (a friend) they bullied, but it was years too late. This is inspired more by their backers than the band themselves. This is me reminding myself that the ska community that has mostly accepted my gayness is still made up of human beings, and most human beings are garbage.
